The best time to reseed a lawn with cool-season grass seed is in the early fall, between mid-august to early october, and at least 45 days before the first frost of the growing season.
If you are reseeding your lawn during the summer, you will need to wait until the last week of August before you can start the seeding process.
This will give you enough time for the seeds to germinate and for them to be ready for planting in late August or early September.
